The administration domain takes upon itself the duty to provide the ecovillage with a user friendly, simple and smooth structure for its self-organisation. It serves as a bridge between society’s bureaucratic processes and Suderbyn’s organisations and inhabitants. It works to reduce the complexity and translate the bureaucratic language into a simple one which anybody can interact with while ensuring compliance with legal requirements and financial sustainability.
The domain is constantly active due to the amount of administration needed when you put 25 people, a learning NGO and an infinite amount of ideas and plans under the same roof. In this domains our future ambitions are:
In the short-term; getting established as a developed domain with a solid team and ensuring that the organisations operate on par with legal standards.
In the long-term, setting the pace with alternative entrepreneurial models and securing sustenance for community members.
What can volunteers expect? Through their involvement in the administration domain, volunteers can expect to gain knowledge and experience on running different forms of organisations, accounting practices, project management practices, meeting facilitation practices, documentation and archiving practices, various IT and office tools. The domain is under early developmental stage and currently has one coordinator. It hopes to recruit new coordinators along the way and increase its ability to accommodate more volunteers. So, there is a lot of room for taking active coordinative role and direction setting in the domain.
