Info Letter #2

All wonderful people coming to No More War Festival!
Here is the 2nd Info letter with details and information you need to know. Please read it and let me know if any more questions. The previous Info letter about accommodation, travel and guidelines can be found here online.

1. PROGRAM OVERVIEW
See the program overview and bands here: www.suderbyn.se/program
If you have anything what you would like to contribute to the program, just let us know – it is very welcome! Just let us know ;)

2. ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY TO TAKE WITH YOU
  • Tent and sleeping bag (or collaborate with someone else who has a tent and crawl into their sleeping bags). A hotel nearby is available too, read about accommodation.
  • Your own plate, bowl, spoon/fork and cup (so you can spend less water and effort for cleaning).
  • Water bottle or/and thermos
  • Headlight or torch (or light on your phone works too if it is good enough)
  • Comfortable clothes, comfortable shoes (leave your ties and high hills home)
  • Warm clothes for chilly nights
  • Rain jacket (we ordered a good weather but have not received any confirmation)
  • ONLY biodegradable hygiene products (toothpaste, soap, etc) as we have our own natural water system. If needed biodegradable products will be available to purchase at the location.
Recommended to take:
  • music instruments for jams!
  • power bank (there will be limited space to charge phones)

You are going to camp – to live in a tent – so take everything you might need in your little adventure.

3. WATER
Water, yeah... Gotland is known for water shortage these last years. Suderbyn Ecovillage have our own water system which can sustain only about 50 people while the festival will be around 200. Therefore we will be veeeery careful with water and we will need to carry water with trailers from far away. There will be stations with drinking water and hygiene stations, of course. But do not expect real showers – simple 'indian style' bucket showers with hand-pumped water really rock! Also there is the sea in 15 min walk.
We encourage to limit the use of water as much as possible and use it only in absolute need.

4. FOOD COUPONS & MONEY
As you might have read the program is for free, and for the accommodation you just bring your tent. Very welcome to leave a donation at the festival, and we do depend on your gifts.
Plus everyone who is not a voluteer/workhshop-holder/music-band need to share the food cost if you will be eating here.  There will be food coupons at the registration. The food is the same for everyone but you choose yourself if you belong to a low-income, middle-income or high-income and accordingly you choose to contribute either 400, 650 or 1000 swedish kronas for 4 days. It can be calculated for less days, e.g. if you join only for the weekend. You also can choose to arrange your own food. The collective food will be served from breakfast the 17th. There will be also dinner on the 16th available for extra contribution.
Payment: you can pay for food coupons at the registration table (cash or Swish) or you can transfer it online in this way.
If you transfer it online please email us straight away to festivalnomorewar@gmail.com

5. MARKET SPACE
There will be a market space and you are welcome to bring anything created with respect to nature and people – anything home-made, small-scale produced. Organic snacks, art, your unique inventions, herbs, craft music instruments, ecological clothes, etc – any products reflecting values of caring for people, caring for nature and fair share. As there is a market place it also makes sense to bring some cash (in any currency actually, let's go beyond national borders!). Of course you will need to take care about your own market location.

6. SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING
We quite actively post updates about our preparations and news on No More War Facebook page. Like it and share :)
Also to keep updated join the FB event – and invite your friends <3
We are super excited about what is happening now and what will unfold when all of you arrive!

Please support our work buy sharing the donation poster (see below) in your networks. Remember that the whole festival is organised in gift economy, with a good share of miracle.
