Info letter #1

This is sent to you who showed the interest in No More War Festival and this email is a confirmation that we are looking forward and excited to meet you in August.
I do not want to spam with many emails, so here is one with a lot of information, please read through all of it ;) Only important things are here.

  • TRAVEL
Book your trip to Sweden as soon as possible as the prices are going up and for many of you it will be quite a journey. Here is the description of traveling paths to Gotland: www.suderbyn,se/travel – see what fits you better, there are ferries, trains and flights.
Most of you will go thought Stockholm. Please let me know ASAP by email when you plan to be in Stockholm because I will try to put you in groups for the ferry to Gotland, as group tickets are cheaper (it should be at least 10 people). We need to do it as fast as possible as there is limited number of tickets for the ferries!
From the harbour it is possible to walk, bike, drive (or whatever else you use for 8 km teleportation). The location for No More War is 8 km from the capital of Gotland – Visby and connected by a nice bicycle park and a large road. See at the same travel web page how to get to Suderbyn.
If you need visa, please contact me asap. We can help with invitations.

  • LIVING CONDITIONS
The living conditions are very simple – the whole festival is held in cooperation with nature =). A default accommodation is a camping side. There are camping locations in the forest area and on the ecovillage territory. Simple compost toilets, super simple bucket style showers. The sea is two km away.

Another option, for those who see camping as a horror, is to stay in the hotel next door (100-200 m from our territory) – Suderbys Herrgård.

  • REGISTRATION & GUIDELINES
No More War Festival is a closed event only for registered participants. It is a space for learning, connection and development of shared initiatives, not just a "regular festival".  If you have not registered at No More War Festival (the button "I am interested") please do so. It is is the same button to register whether you want to be a participant, a contributor or just follow what is happening.
We have no drugs, no alcohol and no violence policy in our place and the same applies to the Festival.  If you have more questions I am here to help.

  • FACEBOOK GROUP
Here is the FB event No More War Festival and the group 'People of No More War Festival'  – it is the space for us to connect, ask questions, answer and help each other. Please join and use that space as you wish, whether with a question, an offer or an inspirational image/video you want to share with others. Feel free also just to introduce yourself if you want.

  • PROJECTS INCUBATOR
The Festival aims to be not only learning, connecting and breaking stereotypes space (which is already a lot) but also will have a project development process for those interested to work more with partners from other countries. So bring your ideas, dreams, offers and needs. We do want to foster the collaboration between our countries, beyond politics, and No More War Festival is a perfect space for that.

  • PROGRAM
An exact program will be coming later, but so far we have received about 10 workshops/sessions applications and 15 bands and individual artists confirmed their participation with music. We have spaces for more! Spread the word about the event so more people can take a part in different roles. The program will be appearing over time here: www.suderbyn.se/program. So far we have people coming from Sweden, Finland, Russia, Denmark, Ukraine, Latvia, Poland, Germany, France plus a number of international volunteers from all over Europe.

  • HELP, CONTRIBUTION, SUPPORT
Last but not least. We do the Festival from scratch. With zero external funding, with our personal donations and the hope for donations from others. Yourbest contribution is coming and joining the happening on your own expenses and we are grateful for that.
It is the first festival at the location and we are building  each piece of the infrastructure from a scene to extra toilets from scratch, completely voluntary with our own hands. It is a whole story and it is an inspiring story.

IMPORTANT! Please share the information about the festival and donations, please ask your friends and networks to contribute what they can. We need the donations for feeding volunteers, helping with tickets to activists and bands which cannot come on their expenses. Share: www.suderbyn.se/donations
Here is more materials for promotion: www.suderbyn.se/promo-material
And FB page for news of course: www.facebook.com/nomorewarfestival

We also will be starting a crowd-funding campaign, if you can can and want to help – please let me know.

On behalf of NMWF team, with sunny and warm hugs from beautiful Gotland,
always yours Johan the Raccoon
