International Project Coordinator

Position: 
International Project Coordinator

Job details:
Working hours: 12 hours (3days/week)
Salary: 7000 SEK (gross)
Length: 6 months probationary, thereafter a continuing employment contract

​Context: 
The International Project Coordinator is the key employee of Suderbyn Ecovillage and its NGO RELEARN for its international cooperation and outreach efforts. The position is a networker and doer that can build bridges between partners in different countries and ensure that the collaborations produce results. The International Project Coordinator is involved in project management and administration but often is required to fill the gaps as speaker, facilitator, motivator and project architect. The position normally demands international travel as well as frequent online meeting participation.

As the NGO RELEARN Suderbyn is recruiting, its RELEARN Council has the ultimate employer responsibility. Since 2021, RELEARN Council better reflects the NGO’s internationalisation. The position is part of the Suderbyn work domain for “Networks, Education and Research” which includes the Education Coordinator and International Project Coordinator. This position also collaborates with the Administrative Coordinator and the Garden Coordinator.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Monitoring donor funding, writing applications and building partnerships for externally funded projects in accordance with RELEARN Suderbyn’s agreed priorities.
  • Steering and reporting the externally funded projects in accordance with the funding programme and project agreement’s requirements. 
  • Facilitating communication and meetings between project partners and ensuring distributing project tasks.
  • Strengthening RELEARN's position in local and transnational networks relevant for RELEARN's activities and supporting cooperation with other organizations.  
  • Ensuring thorough legal and financial documentation of the assigned projects.
  • Contributing to the deliverables of services provided by RELEARN Suderbyn (consultation, facilitation, project management, IT services).
  • Creating visibility of project results through outreach activities.
  • Facilitating volunteer participation in RELEARN work domain 
  • Holding regular meetings for volunteer coordination and creating a process-oriented, pedagogical work environment.


Requirements and qualifications:
  • Willingness to live in Suderbyn and participate in its activities.
  • Project management skills: communication, coordination and financial planning, budget monitoring.
  • Digital skills: project management tools, office tools and online literacy.
  • Facilitation competence, both IRL and digitally.
  • Experience with non-profit and grass-root movements.
  • Legally allowed to work in Sweden.
  • Proactive and responsible attitude.
  • Ability to work in an English-speaking environment, other regional languages are an asset.
